It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verlie Mary Veronie Hernandez of Acadiana, Louisiana, born in Duson, Louisiana, who passed away on June 16, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Veronie and Olivia LaVergne Veronie; her son Kendal James Hernandez; and her siblings, Shirley Veronie Judice and Andrew Veronie.
She is survived by: her husband Elmo J. Hernandez of Lafayette, LA; her daughters, Darlene Use' (Joe) of Lafayette and Shawntel Arnold (Seth) of Lafayette; her sister Verna Veronie Thibodeaux of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Conway James Hernandez, Jonathan Use', Brandon Use' and Landon Bonin; and her great grandchild Vincent "Vinney" Use'. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Verlie's name to the charity of your choice to honor Verlie and her family.
