We are sad to announce that on April 13, 2022, at the age of 92, Valla Gillespie Brown of Acadiana, Louisiana, born in Woodsboro, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Billy "B. J." Brown; her son Terry Lynn Brown; her parents, Raymond William and Frieda Boerm Gillespie; and her siblings, Vernon, Norman, Raymond, Bobby, Alvin Gillespie, Audrey McIver and Elna Johnston.

She is survived by: her sons, Guy William Brown of Lafayette and Clint Lee Brown (Paige) of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Danielle Clement of Pensacola, Florida and Jared Clement of Seattle, WA; and her sisters, Peggy Longmire of Texas and Vida Hileman of Texas. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

With regards to the current pandemic, the family is requesting that masks are worn during the visitation and service.
