With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norbert Rickie Myers of Acadiana, Louisiana, born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, who passed away on September 27, 2022 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Bertha Baker Myers; his half-brothers, John Saunier and James Saunier; and his stepbrother Robert Allen Newman.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Granger Myers of Lafayette; his children, Norbert Christopher Myers of Lafayette, LA, Dustin Thomas Myers (Natalie Romagosa) of Milton, LA and Karen Nicole Myers of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Kai Myers, Hunter Myers, Noah Myers (Leslie), Luke Myers and Maxim Myers; and his great grandchild Rowan Myers. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

“Hi: My name is Fred Rousseau. I was with the Lafayette PD and I retired in 2001. I was the captain of a shift and Norbert was one of my sergeants. I just heard of his passing a few days ago. Not only was Norbert an excellent supervisor but he was my friend. When I retired I moved to Montana and lost touch with everyone. I was hurt and shocked when I heard about him.
