He is survived by: his sister Joan Burson; his wife Gwen Burson; his children, Myra Burson, Benjamin Burson and Isaac "Zac" Jackson Burson III (Julie); his stepchildren, Karen Johnson and Gary Bergeron (Kent Mire); his siblings-in-law, Denis Clare, Doug Bordelon (Jackie), Ronald Martel, Steve Martel, Sandifer Burson, Joann Bordelon Callais, Carolyn Bordelon Hudson and Cyndi Ducharme; his grandchildren, Hannah Burson, Camille Burson and Leslee Picou (Will); his great grandchildren, Slade and Sydney; his grandchildren, Kylie Doucet (Trevor) and Taylor Johnson (Tiffany); and his great grandchildren, Valerie, Caroline, Natalie and Wes. He is also survived by his family, ensuring his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Eunice Library or Evangeline Parish Public Library, the LSUE Foundation, Basile Wrestling, St. Edmund School, or St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
