It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Arceneaux Winston of Acadiana, Louisiana, born in Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Harold John Winston, Sr.; her parents, Rousseau Arceneaux, Sr. and Jeanne Marie Triche; her son Harold John Winston, Jr.; her brothers, Rousseau Arceneaux, Jr., Harold Arceneaux, Edward Arceneaux and Carrol Arceneaux; and her grandson Kyle Winston.
She is survived by: her children, Vickie Ann Opper (Philip) of Lafayette, Pamela Faye Lyons (James Kurt) of Lafayette and Karl Todd Winston (Vicki) of Maurice; her brother Clayton John Arceneaux (Donna) of Lafayette; her daughter-in-law Monica B. Ryan of Hot Springs, AR; her grandchildren, Kristi Lavergne, Kevin Lyons, Amy Sweeney, Justin Lyons, Kimberly Davis, Keri Maher, Koby Winston, Rachel, Vincent Opper, Stephanie Kalmbach, Patrick Comeaux and Cassie Paetz; and her friends, Hazel, Olita and Gussie. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Fountain Memorial Funeral Home (1010 Pandora St, Lafayette, LA 70506). A rosary was held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Evelyn's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, WEB PO Box 7410354, Chicago, IL 60674-0354 in memory of her grandson, Kyle Winston.
