With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jocelyn Lyons Briggs of Abbeville, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 3, 2025 at the age of 78. She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Lyons and Dorothy Reaux Lyons; her brother Clyde Lyons; and her godchild Cordray Lyons. She is survived by: her husband Roy Briggs of Abbeville; her children, Julian Briggs (Jade) of Lafayette and Kiowa Duhon (Hec) of Abbeville; her siblings, Timon Lyons (Dana) of Houston, Natalie Brailey of Abbeville and Regina Williams of Houston; and her grandchildren, Kai Duhon of Abbeville, Ramey Duhon of Abbeville, Phoebe Briggs of Lafayette and Bishop Briggs of Lafayette. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and special friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Frioux-David Funeral Home of Abbeville (2600 Charity St, Abbeville, LA 70510). A rosary was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church (101 N Leonard Ave, Abbeville, LA 70510).
