She was predeceased by: her parents, George A. Hatter and Juda Durham Hatter; her husbands, Herman L. Brown, Sr. and William Latham; her sons, Herman Lester Brown, Jr. and Richard "Rick" Brown; her grandchildren, Kimberly Dawn Brown and Wayne Allen Brown; her great grandchild Ryan Brown; and her sisters, Jewel "City" Williams, Mildred Toms, Norma Milburn and Anna Joan Woodrum.
She is survived by: her son Charles Michael Brown (late Marsha) of Hustonville; and her siblings, Paul Hatter and Hartese Johnson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
