He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Carlton Sr. and Melvina Furnish Carlton; and his brothers, Kenneth Ryan Carlton, Alfred "Buster" Carlton and Elmer "Junior" Carlton.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Jean Richmond Carlton; his son Ronald Carlton of New Castle, KY; and his granddaughter Riley K. Carlton. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
