He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Covington and Margaret Covington (Sumner); and his siblings, Melvin Covington Jr., David Lee Covington, Michael Richard Covington, Steven Blake Covington, Betty Lou Forgy, Darlene Goodman and Gail Jean Rowe.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ashby; his son Barry Ashby of Scottsville; his stepson Curtis Ashby of Russellville; his daughters, Lisa Priest of Lodi, Bridgette Hampton of Woodburn and Misty Sitz of Elkton; his stepdaughters, Angela Ashby of Russellville, Tina Ashby of Hopkinsville and Tanya Ashby of Central City, KY; and his siblings, Gary Ronald Covington of Hopkinsville, Kenneth Earl Covington of Russellville, Troy Lee Covington (Michelle) of Lewisburg, Carolyn Ann Spohn of Russellville, Deborah Lynn Covington of Lewisburg, Kathy Sue Irvin of Lewisburg and Brenda K. Shutts of Antioch. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
