She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Barton and Dorothy Barton; her husband Paul Carter; and her siblings, Louetta Robinson, E. J. Barton and Ernest Lee Barton.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy Rapier (Gary), Wesley Carter (Renee), Melissa Reeves (Jerry) and Teresa Rowe (Michael); her grandchildren, Wesley Carter, Jr., Raymond Carter, Daniel Reeves, David Reeves, Adam Rowe, Sarah Rowe and Asher Rowe; and her siblings, Harrison Barton and Wilma Johnson. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
