He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Smithers and Alberta Smithers (Muncie); his parents-in-law, John Henry and Florence Hill; and his siblings, Mary Sue Hardin, Diane Arvin, Elizabeth Ann Smithers, Carol Lynette Kwolskie, David Michael Smithers, Johnny Lee Smithers and Scotty Wayne Smithers.
He is survived by: his wife Freda Smithers of Woodbine, Kentucky.. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews.
