She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas L. Brooks; her siblings, Michael Workman, Gene Workman, Mary Lois Wafford and Billie Sue King; her grandson Scott Emerson; and her parents, William Workman and Lois Acree Workman.

She is survived by: her children, Gary Lee Brooks of Wingo, KY and Janice Emerson (Robert) of Wingo, KY; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Martin (Jerry) of Cartersville, GA and Leigh Ann Jarvis (Scott) of Symsonia, KY. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
