He was predeceased by: his sons, Thomas Andrew Cox and Eugene Leo Cox; his parents, Donald James and Florence Winifred Cox, Sr. (Johnson); and his siblings, Kenneth Edward Cox and Ruth Elaine Peters.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Rachel Cox (Douglas) of Wingo, KY; his children, Carol Wooden of Knoxville, TN, Heather Cox (Rachel Bauer) of Milton, FL and David Wesley Cox (Yvette) of Franklin, TN; and his sisters, Nancy Lou Ackerley of Athens, GA and Patricia Marie Bischoff of Marshall, MI. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
