She was predeceased by: her former husband William Earl "Mutt" Carter; her husband Jewell Conner; her daughter-in-law Gloria Carter; her siblings, Charles Morris and Govie Stroud; her great grandchild Ashley Osborne; and her parents, Arley Morris and Viva Barnes Morris.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Carter of Wingo and Gail Gargus (David) of Wingo; and her grandchildren, Karen Clapp (William), Melissa Whitenton (Will), Rob Carter (Dyan) and Julie Doss (Keith). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
