He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Gooden and Wanda Ruth Gooden; his siblings, Charlie, Terry and Beverly; and his grandson Aiden.

He is survived by: his wife Laila Gooden; his children, Cody Gooden of Ohio, Caitlin Gooden of Ohio, Keira Gooden of Somerset and Chelsea Tabares of Windsor; and his fishing buddies, J. R. Stevens, Brad, Lee, Garry, Verlin, Dan, Harold, Alan, Boyd, Jason, Tim and Ben.
