He is survived by: his close friend James Lewis Hayes; his wife Tina Ferry Clarkson; his sons, Daniel Clarkson (Angela Kingsley), Ted Clarkson and Johnny Clarkson (Kara); his stepson Zackery Williams; his sisters, Darethea Burns (Bill), Myrtle Hawkins, Juanita Mounce (Gary) and Jo Ann Clarkson (Benny Day); and his grandson Lane.
