He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Bowman and Nora Gertrude Benton Bowman; and his siblings, Virginia Richards, Elizabeth Abbott, Mary Ann Gillispie and James Ellis Bowman.
He is survived by: his wife Zona Marie Bowman; his children, Vivian Bowman-Edwards (Steven), Gary Bowman (Kathy), Trudy Bowman Glover (Harold), Silas Willoughby Jr. (Joseph Gilio), Rebecca Bowman Palmer (Willie) and Richmond; his grandchildren, Kristin Montes (Valeriano), Travis Glover (Robin), Stephanie Laverde (John) of Norfolk, VA, Kobe and Aniston Palmer; his siblings, Neville Bowman, Genevieve Wagoner of Stuart, FL, Christine Hall (Neale) of Lexington, Dorothy Cassada of Lexington and Shirley Perrett of Lexington; and his close friend Gene Woestman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family; and friends.
