He was predeceased by: his wife Lina Wilson Drake; his parents, Vaughn P. Drake and Margaret Willis Drake; and his sisters, Nell Drake White Dodd and Margaret Drake Parks.

He is survived by: his son Sam W. Drake; his grandsons, Anthony R. Drake (Crystal) and Patrick J. Drake; and his great grandchildren, Mya, Clara and Henry Drake.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Milward Funeral Director (159 N Broadway, Lexington, KY 40507). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Winchester Cemetery (625 W Lexington Ave, Winchester, KY 40391).
