He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ballard and Lucy Shearer Ballard. He is survived by: his wife Janice Asberry of Clinton County, KY; his son George Matthew "Matt" Ballard; his sister Ann Carol Ballard Humble (Phillip); his nephew James Mason Ballard; his great-nieces, Kelly Nichole Ballard, Kristie Totten and Jessica Totten; his siblings, Hallie Elizabeth Ballard McCloud (Doodle), George Ballard Jr., Afa Carl Ballard and Shirley Lee Ballard; his niece Whitney Ann Ballard; and also, Orene Pryor and Pam Asberry Stofer.
