He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Himes and Ella Mae Kennedy Himes; his children, Leona Miller and Robert Himes, Jr.; his granddaughter Heather; and his siblings, Louise Henderson, Lillie Fetters, Ruth Ann Fetters, Wilma Mason, Ollie, Charles, Roy, Everett and Lonnie Himes.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Mae Kennedy Himes; his daughters, Patricia "Pat" DeBord (John) and Carol Jane Matthews; his brother James Himes; and his grandchildren, Faith, Amber, Kevin, Brittany, Shawlin, Kayla, Jamie, Mary and Tricia. He is also survived by several great grandchildren and extended family.
