He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Gussler and Alma Farris Gussler; and his brother Donald Ray Gussler. He is survived by: his children, Kellyn Gussler (Scott Poage) of Hillsboro, Richard S. Gussler (Rick) of Lebanon and E. Scott Gussler (Ashley) of Winchester; his grandchildren, Hailey, Scottie, Annabelle, Kinley, Asher and Caleb; and his sisters, Darlene Staniford (Rick) of Louisa, KY and Linda Martin (Kevin) of Lula, GA. He is also survived by five nephews, and two nieces.
