He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Townsend and Mary Townsend; his wife Janice Townsend; and his siblings, Ernest Townsend, Jerldene Hall and Anna Sue Patrick.
He is survived by: his sons, Mike Embs, Dwayne Embs, Richard Townsend, Jerry Townsend, David Townsend and Rondel Townsend; and his sisters, Fredia Anderson, Tereas Shoemaker and Debra Berryman.
