She was predeceased by: her husband James W. Sams; her parents, Tom Bennett and Della Mahan Bennett; and her son Gary Ray Sams. She is survived by: her daughter Rhonda Slucher (Kevin); her grandchildren, Ian James Slucher, Marisa Layne (Zared) and Joslyn Stanfield (Bob); her sister Naomi Ballard; and her friend Barbara Johnson.
