He was loved and cherished by many people including: his friend Charlene Hatton; his grandson Jeremiah Eytcheson; his daughter Ashleigh Hammel; his parents, Paul Gum and Jean Gum of Rockwood, PA; his siblings, Lorie (Tom) and Percy (Dulcie); his nieces, Tara (Tyler) and Keri (Scott); his nephew Mike (Emma); his pet Gizmo; and his spouse Charlene. He was also cherished by four great-nephews.

Any donations can be made to the Clark County Regional Medical Center or the Clark County Animal Shelter both located in Winchester, KY.
