He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Barrett and Laura Brandenburg Barrett; and his siblings, Vercie Haggard Lawson, Charles, Edwin, Richard, Lawrence and Cecil Barrett.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Searcy (Timothy) of Prestonsburg, KY, Sandy Barrett of Mesa, AZ, Lillian Beth Walters (Steve) of Winchester, KY and Lorna Barrett of Richmond, KY; his grandchildren, Scott Ball, Steven Smith (Sue), William Higgins (Ashli), Phillip Searcy (Sydney), Nathan Searcy, Douglas Walters, Sophia Nikki Walters and Siera Simpson; and his siblings, George Barrett (Zella), Clyde Barrett (Faye) and Geraldine Christopher. He is also survived by five great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.
