He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsberry Banks and Lydia Tolson Chism. He is survived by: his siblings, Arnold Banks (Betty), Loretta Beauvier (Donald) and James Blanton; his children, Mary Banks Ashcraft (Rick), Mitchell Banks, Jr. (Connie), Sharon Kay Banks, Alene Banks Bowling, Shari Cox, James William Banks (Tammy) and Michelle Banks Boyd (Marty); and his close friend Marie Banks. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
