It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Howard (Winchester, Kentucky), born in Salyersville, Kentucky, who passed away on February 12, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Estell Howard and Gladys Ward Howard; his brother Estell Howard, Jr.; his sister-in-law Etha Howard; and his nephews, Edison and Rick Howard.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Hewson (Mark) and Harold Howard (Sheila); his grandchildren, Allen Hewson (Katie), Ashley Ballard (Hubert) and Austin Howard (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Tatum Ann, Kennedy Mae Howard, Lillian Steele Hewson, Jacob, Jacqueline Ballard and Melvin; his siblings, Loyd Howard (Kay) of Winchester, Jerry Howard (Sarah) of Salyersville, KY., Betty Barnett (Robert) of Salyersville, KY, Mary Sue Dyer (Hetzel) of Ypsilanti, MI and Linda Montgomery (Harold) of Salyersville, KY.; his aunt Alice Howard of Mt. Sterling, KY.; and his parents-in-law, Denzil Stephens (Allene) of Jacksonville, FL and Clinton Stephens of Port Clinton, OH.. He is also survived by numerous cousins, and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
