He is survived by: his wife Brenda Melvin Elam; his daughter April Sebastian (George) of Winchester; and his siblings, Allen Elam (Betty) of Ohio, Jerry Elam (Gayle), David Elam of Winchester and Retta Gay Taulbee (John) of Morgan County. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
