He is survived by: his wife Mary Vires Griffett; his children, James D. Griffett (Maylyn) of Powell County and Tina Sparks (Dennis) of Winchester; his siblings, Blanche Hawkins, Rose Sharon Helton (Johnny) of Powell County, Steve Griffett (Charlotte), Lanny Griffett (Sandra), Billy Griffett, Bobby Griffett of Winchester, Danny Griffett (Jeannie) of Clay City and James Griffett Jr. (Martha) of Inman; his grandchildren, J. D. Griffett (Destiny), Dennis Sparks Jr. (Lauren), Tommy Marcum (Patricia), Colby Reffitt, Matthew Shields, Elizabeth Reffitt, Mary Ferguson (Norman) and Lynnsay Griffett; and his great grandchildren, Layken Griffett, Karter Griffett, Dakota Marcum, Brianna Marcum, Hayden Marcum, Khloe Ferguson, Douglas Ferguson, Norman Ferguson Jr. and Dennis Sparks III. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
