He was predeceased by: his mother Wanda Lynch; his stepfather Calvin Lewis; his brother John Paul Dye; and his daughter Jeane Cheek. He is survived by: his children, Brian Dye and Priscilla Hershiser; his grandchildren, Chaz Carpenter, Cory Hershiser and Chasity Hershiser; and his stepchildren, B. J. Griffett, Angela Griffett and Rachael Fields. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister.
