He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Johnnie Townsend and Gladys Townsend; his parents, John Stanton and Irene Sullivan Bierman; his niece Jamie Muncie; his nephew James Spencer (Bub); and his siblings-in-law, Fred, Jim, Charles, Wendell Wheeler and Alice Wheeler.
He is survived by: his wife Myra Wheeler Townsend; his daughter Nikki; his son-in-law Anthony Blakemore (Andy); his grandsons, Jarrett and Colton Blakemore; his siblings, Sue Vittek (Rich) of Maryland, Aleisa Thornton (Michael) of Ohio, Johnny Stanton, Don Stanton (Arlene) of Ohio and Stephen Stanton of Florida; and his close friend Sandy Zaremba of Maryland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Leon Pace Memorial Chapel.
