He was predeceased by: his father Al Smith (Ginger) of Carlisle; and his grandparents, James and Olive Carr of Lexington. He is survived by: his mother Glenda Carr Smith of Winchester; his daughter Halie Ramsey of Pikeville; and his sister Angie Steele (Mark) of Harrodsburg. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in honor of Ben to the American Diabetes Association.
