She was predeceased by: her husband John R. Codell; her parents, Ida Miller Tanner and William VanMeter Sudduth; and her siblings, Betty Ginger, Ruth Fishback, Jean Richeson, Joe Sudduth and Bill Sudduth.

She is survived by: her daughters, Johanne Daigh (George Michael), Cathy Edwards (Harkness) and Carol Codell; and her grandchildren, John Daigh (Melissa), Catherine Daigh Simmons (Jason), Anne Daigh, George Daigh, Katherine Edwards, Beth Edwards Arnett (Walt), Laura Edwards, Joshua Tarnofsky (Stephanie), Michael Tarnofsky and Caroline Tarnofsky. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
