He was predeceased by: his daughter Kathleen Jones Phillips; his grandson Jesse Carl Phillips; his siblings, Bertha Jones Grimm, David Russell Jones, Carl Robert Jones, Shirley Jones Nicholson, Nancy Jones Humphrey and Richard Allen Jones; and his parents, Jesse James Jones and Mary Patterson Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Letha Gemmell Jones; his children, Daniel Christy Jones (Rebecca Louis Jones) of Cincinnati, OH, David Walter Jones (Susan Durden Jones) of Maryville, TN, Anita Lynn Sweetser (Charles Randall Sweetser) of Wilmore, KY and Wendy Lee Jones of Wilmore, KY; his son-in-law Roy Earl Phillips of McCormick, SC.; and his siblings, Raymond Eugene Jones, Linda Jones Cmar and Daniel Wayne Jones of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Jesse Harold Jones died on April 1, 2023, after a lengthy bout with Alzheimer's at the age of 91, at Wesley Village in Wilmore, KY.
