He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Sr. McVay and Beddie Shears McVay; his close friend Margaret; his son Lonnie Jay Fuson of Williamsburg; and his siblings, Nannie Early, Brenda McVay, Ettia Lee Davis, Bertha Jones, Henry, George, Cleo and Tommie McVay.
He is survived by: his sons, Billy McVay of Williamsburg, Jackie McVay of Williamsburg and Stevie McVay of Williamsburg; and his siblings, Evelyn Lay of Georgia, Cleda Caddell of Williamsburg, Linda Baker of Williamsburg, Allen McVay of Toledo, Robert McVay of Williamsburg, Emmanuel McVay of Williamsburg and Clayton Brown of Williamsburg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
