She was predeceased by: her parents, Ara Sawyers and Ruby Sawyers (Powers); her children, Polly Gayle Mays, Michael Keith Mays and Gregory Allen Mays; and her siblings, Sue Sawyers, Carl Edward Sawyers, Ray Sawyers and Ronnie Sawyers.
She is survived by: her husband James "Duke" Cox of Williamsburg; her son Carl Ray Mays of Williamsburg; her grandchildren, Brandon Mays (Brittany) of Williamsburg and Amanda Gayle Mays (Tyler Chesnut); her great grandchildren, Madison Smith and Maelee Chesnut; and her sister Carolyn Wilson (Charles) of Williamsburg.
