He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Helton and Maude Pfaff Helton; his stepmother Hallie Miller Helton; his siblings, Wilma Terrell, Phyllis Helton, Jim Helton, Billy Helton, Ray Helton and Pete Helton; his half-brother Charles Helton; and his stepbrothers, Jack Miller, Cliff Miller, Bill Miller, Jay Miller and Lewis Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Helton (Mary) and Sandy Herron (Jerry); his siblings, Ralph Helton (Lela), Sue Hunter and Faye Allen; his great grandchild Brent; and his caregiver Sharon Rackley. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
