He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Broom and Tressie Broom; his brother Donald Broom; his wife Mavis Farmer Broome; and his son John David Broome, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Kim White (Fred), Erica Harris (John) and Shelleigh Moses (Ronnie); his grandchildren, Tyler Harris (Hannah), Richard Moses, Erin White Wells (Phillip), Katelyn Harris, Jake Moses, Kelsey White Howard (Adam), Amanda Moses Kelly (Ethan) and Haley Harris Akins (Connor); his great grandchildren, Reedy, Ramsey, Rawlings Harris, Luke, Samuel Wells, Hudson and Baron Howard; and his sister Sarah White. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (230 S 5th St, Williamsburg, KY 40769, United States). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In thanksgiving for Dr. Broome's life and legacy, memorial gifts may be made to University of the Cumberlands or First Baptist Church Williamsburg.
