He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Dewey Prewitt and Nannie Butler Prewitt; his wife Laura Jane Croley Prewitt; and his siblings, Clara Haggan, Grace Carroll, Delores Vest, Loretta Bowlin, Charles Prewitt, John Albert Prewitt, Quentin Prewitt and Albert Lee Prewitt.
He is survived by: his daughter Debra Ann Stadler of Williamsburg; his grandchildren, Joseph Davis of Williamsburg, Rosafay Davis of Dalton and Crystal Johns (Roger) of Williamsburg; his great grandchildren, Tessa Smith, Tarrah Davis, Makayla Johns and Austin Fox of Joseph Davis, III.; his great great grandchildren, Jaycee Smith, Calvin Smith and Malachi Smith; and his sister Joyce Prewitt Bowlin of Michigan.
