He was predeceased by: his wife Sherry Gayle Cox; his parents, Elmer Cox and Ellen Martin Cox; his stepchildren, Gregory Mays, Michael Mays and Polly Gail Mays; and his siblings, Bob Cox, Nathaniel Cox, Edward Cox, David Cox, Roger Cox, Nora Cox and Rachel Cox.
He is survived by: his siblings, Judy Bryant, Zora Bryant, Dora Bryant, Louise Perry, Christeen Scalf, Charles Cox and Andrew Cox; his stepson Carl Ray Mays; his stepgrandchildren, Amanda Gail Mays and Brandon Mays; and his great grandchildren, Madison and Maylee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, as well as other family and friends.
