He is survived by: his son Shawn Carter (Angela) of Williamsburg; his grandchildren, Joshua Carter, Nathan Carter and Matthew Kirby; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth, Jace and Liara; and his siblings, Patsy Zumwalt, Donna Faye Lindenfelser and Joe Carter of Mosbie.
