He is survived by: his wife Alma Cox of Williamsburg; his children, Paul Eugene Cox of Williamsburg, Dexter Ray Cox of Williamsburg, John Edward Cox of Williamsburg and Renita Hillis of Washington; his grandchildren, Nicole Cox, Rachael Cox, Morghanne Cox and David Adam Cox II; his great grandchildren, Rebekah Hutto and Remington Mullis; and his sister Jessie Smith of Williamsburg.
