He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Stephens and Jocie Stephens; his wife Bernice Martin Stephens; his children, Sandra Murphy and Scott Stephens; and his siblings, Geraldine Stephens, Beatrice Smiley, Lewis and Chester Stephens.
He is survived by: his son-in-law Shannon Murphy; his children, Derrick Human and Krista Spence (Jeremiah); his grandchildren, Shasta Chapman (Lee), Cainin Human, Jaydon Bearden, Joleigh Spence and Justin Murphy; his great grandchildren, Alison Chapman, Kaley Chapman, Camryn Chapman and Parker Murphy; and his siblings, William "Bill" (Paula), Page (Carol), Maynard (Cathy), Tom, Dillard (Kathi), Leroy (Trish), Lawrence "Bo" Stephens (Maggie), Zulu Mae Sulfridge, Christine Cathers (John), Nadine Baird and Darlene Baird (Jerome). He is also survived by his family and friends.
