He is survived by: his wife Colleen Werling Smith; his grandchildren, Derek Smith of Paducah, Jarett Smith (Courtney) of Bardwell, Emilie Dover (Mason) of Olmsted, Kayla Smith of Wickliffe and David Edwards (Rene) of Harrisburg, Illinois; and his great grandchildren, Jaden, Bentlee, Avery, Jaxon, Norah and Roman.
