He was predeceased by: his parents, James O. "Hob" Nevels and Mattie Ann Young Nevels; his former wife Violet Nevels; and his siblings, David Nevels, Hayden Nevels, Herman Nevels, George Nevels, Coy Nevels and Clara Nevels Keith.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Nevels; his children, Craig Nevels (Denise) and Connie Howard (Brian); his stepsons, Kevin Nevels and Jeff Nevels (Sue); his grandchildren, Stephanie (Andy), Jason (Laura), Kelly (Matthew) and Sean; and his great grandchildren, Steven, Olivia and Silas.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to DAV, American Kidney Fund, and Alzheimer's Fund.
