He is survived by: his siblings, Coy New, Logan New, Jim New, Luster Sherman New, Roy New, Dorothy Tucker, Bethena Keith, Flona Sexton, Ella Mae Kennedy, Anna Faye Taylor, Goldie Hughes, Angie Phillips, Pearlie Clark and Hester Davis; his grandson Jordan Gerald New; his wife Shirley New (Miniard) of Whitley City, Kentucky; his sons, Jeffery Gerald New (Diane) of Stearns and Craig Waco New (Naomi) of Berea, Kentucky; his granddaughter Jessica Shoopman (Jeff); and his great grandchildren, Jordan Emmy Sue Shoopman and Easton Blaze Shoopman.
