He was predeceased by: his siblings, Paul Brooks, Timothy Wood, Larry Wood, Robert Boyatt, Willa Jean Brooks and Shirley Boyatt.
He is survived by: his siblings, Lonnie Wood of Pine Knot, Lenville Carter of Winfield, Steve Carter of Whitley City, Kentucky, Gail Taylor of Oneida, Wanda Myers of Pine Knot and Vickie Lesh; his niece Geneva Claxton; and his close friend Roger Daugherty.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to cover the funeral cost.
