He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Whitaker and Rose Anna Jones Whitaker (Annie); his son Terry Neal Whitaker; and his sisters, Martha, Mable, Glenna Cornett, Mary Locke, Iolene Roark, Jewel Young, Georgia Nichols Adams and Clara Halcomb.
He is survived by: his wife Dorla Bryant Whitaker; his daughter-in-law Diane Whitaker of Chattanooga, TN; his brother Tom Whitaker (Louise) of Connersville, IN; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Bryant (Carol) of North Vernon, IN and Glenora Bryant Eldridge of Sunman, IN.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
