With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Woodrow J. R. Phillips (Whitesburg, Kentucky), who passed away on December 1, 2024 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Woodrow may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Woodrow touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Phillips Sr. and Sarah Taylor Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Norma Gaye Phillips of Whitaker; his sons, Greg Phillips of Whitaker, Brian Pike-Phillips (Josh) of Whitaker and Kody Damron of Port Royal; his goddaughter Kaylin Nobel of Deane; and his siblings, Anna Beitel (Orin) of Illinois and Carlos Phillips (Karen) of Fleming.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 7:00 AM and at 7:00 PM. Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Letcher Funeral Home (102 Main St, Whitesburg, KY 41858).
