He is survived by: his wife Deborah Jean Cain Bates; his daughters, Tanya Rue (Nathan) and Tiffany Sexton (Charles); his siblings, Gary Bates (Louise), Brenda Allen (Troy), Sue Lowe and Estelene Shepherd; and his grandchildren, William Strunk, Hannah Rue, Keegan Rue, Lexi Adams, Greyson Adams and Creed Sexton.
